Disciple or just a believer?

You have been told that believing in Jesus Christ will lift you up to eternal salvation. But is it true? Is that what the bible teaches?

Matthew 10:37-39
He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

If we do not pick up the cross commanded by Jesus alone then surely we have no entrance into the kingdom of God. Sitting around your church or pretendind to have read some biblical passages or had recited prayers won't work well for your Salvation.

Matthew 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any [man] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Deny yourself!! That's what Jesus said. Your denial is not still hanging on your desires or life plans but it is suffering for the sake of Christ.

Be attentive and lay down your life at Jesus feet in order to be a disciple. Discipleship costs your life. If not, then you are just a "believer" and bearing not fruits.
